I was sure, so sure that Bertie's eyes at least would be alight with remembrance.
But honestly the masterpiece of this chapter was those first three paragraphs. Mmph, evocative and beautiful. I was especially struck by the characterization of a "noble lover" (which could be interpreted on several levels). It was very heartfelt and believable as a romance.
I was actually so satisfied with this update that i'm not ravenous for the next, but more than happy to wait patiently and trust you will write something equally wonderful.
