I wonder if Jeeves had dinner with the man and his wife. I don't know and I'm not up on canon like a lot of people are. I have to say the only thing I don't like about Wodehouse stories is his occasional use of that awful servile dialect when he has Jeeves or Bertie talk to black people. There's that bit about when Jeeves gave away Bertie's purple socks that comes to mind. But then again, many, many writers did the same thing in that era. I don't think that sort of writing should be judged by today's standards, and it doesn't detract from the delight of Wodehouse's world.
