Oh. I wish I could have seen that play! Alan Turing became an interest of mine once I started writing my WWII story. Until that time I had never heard of him. Since then, he's been a part of several things that I've researched for that story. It was tragedy how he was treated. I still feel anger over it at times. He did so much for England and the cause in WWII. I feel that they had to have known that he was homosexual during the war and overlooked it. I saw an interview with a lady who had known him, and I think a lot of things were ignored during the war. To me, it's as if England used him and when he was no longer important to the country, he was ill treated. {Not that my own country has a good record, but that doesn't prevent my sadness over Turing's treatment}.
He did have a choice, but who would want that kind of choice. Just awful. I think it's a choice that would put fear into people. It scares me just to think about, and I never disobey any laws.
So, do you believe it was suicide or an accident? How did the play show his death?
