What ho and so forth! Long-time lurker, occasional commenter, but I'm writing something Jeevesian that I thought was worth sharing.

A bit of backstory: This is from a fancomic for the series Hellsing, which is about a secret British organization of vampire hunters who end up fighting the remains of a vampire-researching division of Nazis.

One of the major characters is Walter, whose official job description is "family retainer" for The Heroine. His duties include making tea, retrieving mail, answering phone calls, flying the occasional helicopter, and fighting vampires with glorified dental floss. This begs the question of where someone would learn such awesomely varied valeting retaining skills.

To answer that, you have to flash back to 1938:

That's Our Heroine in the last panel. She's laid up in bed after a long series of events involving a demon, a catboy, some magic flowers, an ancient Slavic god, and the flu. Otherwise she wouldn't have the time to listen to Bertie's nonsense in the first place.

(That's eight-year-old Walter causing the crash, as Bertie will soon find out.)

The storyline properly starts here, which will give you some background about the people doing the reading. Or you can start where Bertie's narration kicks in, and watch the main page for updates (six days a week) from there.

...look, it's gonna have Vampire Hunter Jeeves. How can you resist?
