I like how you've taken personality characteristics of various members of the supporting cast and extended the scope of their behaviour beyond the usual (trying to get Bertie to marry women or steal things) and still have it make sense. Uncle Tom trying to make profit through war investments when he hates paying taxes and the aunts writing each other letters about sending him to New York for his safety, as opposed to sending him there to stop a cousing marrying a showgirl or whatever.... Well. Even if they know that it won't work, the meddling fits.

So we've got people being in character, basically. And also, Jooster!nuzzling. Aha. Excuse me while I reread this chapter for the third time. <<;
