Sep. 5th, 2004 04:19 amMy roommate and I just got through watching the second episode of Jeeves and Wooster, and I would like to relate that this directly resulted in the both of us dancing in the hallways of the dormitory in a happy manner and reading out quotes from the books.
At this point, a friend of ours who had been attending a party came in, complaining about said party. He was, as Jeeves might say, somewhat under the surface. After a few minutes of witnessing our little display, he remarked "I'm drunk, and *I'm* more coherent than you. Also, you're giggling a lot more."
Conclusion: Wodehouse. Much better than alcohol and parties. QED.
I'm absolutely in love with the series...There are a thousand tiny details -- Bertie taking Jeeves' pocketwatch out of his coat to check the time, for instance -- that really make the whole thing work. Considering how easy this series would have been to foul up royally, I'm thrilled and impressed.
Right...apologies for the gratuitous fangirling -- it's late.

Third, why is my mind making up all sorts of warning slogans about consuming Wodehouse in moderation?
Fourth, ... no, wait, that's it.
