Why yes, this is my first fic. Have to start somewhere, right? I'm not entirely sure what this is, but I do know that the late hour might have something to so with things. Any comments are appreciated, especially about the voices and characterization.

I was watching the cow creamer episode today, and it always cracks me up when I see actress Vivian Pickles as Aunt Dahlia, because to me she will ever and always be Harold's mother (from Harold And Maude). I expected to hear a Cat Stevens score usurp the Anne Dudley music whenever she was onscreen. <g>

I know this has been mentioned before, numerous times, but I agree: the use of different actors in so many of the crucial supporting roles is a bit jarring. There were *four* Aunt Dahlias. And to use Francesca Folan as Madeleine, and then later as Florence was a bit of a shock (especially seeing first season years after seeing 3rd and 4th seasons).

Does anyone else have favorites? I definitely prefer Richard Garnett's Gussie, Elizabeth Morton's Madeleine, and Fiona Gillies' Florence. I like both of the actresses who played Aunt Agatha, and all but the first portrayal of Aunt Dahlia (Harold's mother notwithstanding).

Ah well, as long as we got Fry and Laurie, I'm not complaining.

I'm pretty sure someone wrote a short steampunk version of our heroes, but I can't remember who did or when. I'm pretty sure it was inspired by steampunk fanart. Could someone help me find it?

A couple of months ago I picked up a copy of "Life With Jeeves" at Half Price Books. Last night I cracked it open for some bedtime reading only to discover that, delight of delights, it was previously owned by a Jooster slash fan who had penciled in all kinds of quippy slashy commentary! It includes observations on Bertie quoting Jeeves in romantic contexts, speculations about Bertie and Bingo, and things like "aww" and shirtless!Jeeves & Wooster squee.

WIN!

After mentioning the slashy annotations in my copy of "Life With Jeeves" I was inundated with requests to share said s. a. with the coves here at [livejournal.com profile] indeedsir. As sir wishes.

The s. a. range from the occasional exclamation point to pithy comments usually no longer than a few words. The annotational format will be presented as the passage in plain type and the s. a. in italics following the p. i. p. t. with each section set off with three asterisks for your edification and amusement.

On to the annotations! )
