Oh dear.

Long time lurker, occasion something-or-other poster. I've always wanted to write a Jooster fic, but I'm afraid my first attempt is a little...ah...not quite what I had pictured it to be. Would it be too late to claim the insanity defense?

No? Yes? Ah, well.

Title: Jeeves and the Rabbit
Rating: PG for those in the know
A/N: Bit of dialogue brought on by too much caffiene and not enough sleep. I swear I have no idea where this idea came from, but I have a niggling its related to the idea of Jeeves discovering the internet...Don't ask me how.
A/N2: If you don't know, I'm not telling you. ¬_¬

(Fake cut to my writing journal)

I'll just go back to my corner now.

What ho, all! I'm just getting into J&W fandom after having read most of the books in an epic reading spree a few years ago-- recently I've been watching the show in large quantities, which inspired me to go hunting for the fandom. And (fortunately for me) I came across this lovely community. So, hello!

As a newbie offering, I bring an installment of my own first attempt at J&W fanfiction, which I hope will bring satisfaction:

Title: Jeeves and the Long Engagement
Chapter: One
Pairing: Bertie/Jeeves, eventually and very impliedly.
Summary: Bertie’s life as an marriage teetotaler hits a snag when Georgie Smythe surfaces, claiming she’s got to get married- and fast- to receive an inheritance. Can Jeeves save him from wedded bliss? Well, he’s Jeeves.
Rating: G
Words: 1551
Disclaimer: Jeeves and Bertie were created by the esteemed P.G. I take the blame for Georgie and her retinue.
“It’s no good sputtering at me, Bertie,” Georgie said sternly. “It’s very important that we get married, and within the week.” )

edit formatting fixed.

I can't remember if I've posted this before, so just to be on the safe side...
Judging from the fanfiction I've read, the info won't be new to many of you. It's an excerpt from "A Wodehouse Handbook" by N.T.P. Murpy.

I apologize for the formatting: LJ is refusing to cooperate.

Btw, I also have a couple interesting excerpts culled from
P.G. Wodehouse: A Portrait of a Master by David Jansen.

Mr Wodehouse had claim to a noble heritage, linked through the unusual spelling of the name … with the Wodehouses of Norfolk. The family could be traced back as far as Bertram de Wodehouse, a Norfolk knight who had fought with distinction under Edward I in his war against the Scots from 1277 to 1283; and there was a line of direct descent from Lady mary Boleyn, sister of the ill-fated Anne … A baronetcy was established on 29th June 1611, and an earldom was created in 1866 with the Earl of Kimberly as the head of the family.

[From one of Plum's letters:]

I am at last reading 'The Good Companions.' I love it. That’s the sort of book I would like to write.
