Peter's Friends

Does anyone here know about that popular and comic British Tele serial that Stephen and Hugh acted in together? It was called "Peter's Friends" and Stephen was Peter, and Hugh was one of his oldest college mates (there were many)...
I was reading the plot summary on Amazon Videos, and came across a li'l thing, that Peter has a dark secret that he's kept from his friends for years...does anyone know what that is??? My guess is homosexuality (Stephen, after all)...I'm really curious, as it certainly wasn't revealed in the reviews...
