This is one of three ficlets I currently have open on my desktop. I could finish each of them less than an hour, if I just sat down and did them. Which I probably won't today. But by the end of the week, the other two should be up. I've been writing a lot lately, and remembering how much I like to do it, no matter how much sleep I lose.

Title: Drones Buzzing about the Workers (and Sound Like a Bunch of Queens)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] mechanicaljewel
Fandom: Jeeves & Wooster
Rating: PG, pre-slash
Summary: Everybody loves Jeeves…
Disclaimer: Not mine. Wodehouse’s
Comments: I have no recollection of where this idea came from. As of now, not part of my “Pride” universe, but it may be someday. It’s a stand-alone fic in any case.

By Jove! Another one! In less than three hours! And this one comes with a present!

Title: Jeeves’s My Kind of Man
Author: [livejournal.com profile] mechanicaljewel
Fandom: Jeeves and Wooster
Pairing: Jeeves/Bertie
Rating: PG (fluff)
Summary: Jeeves requires clarification on Bertie’s musical choice, but Bertie only manages to confuse the issue more.
Disclaimer: Not mine. The music is “He's My Kind of a Man” by The Flamingo Melodians, recorded 15 May 1930.
Comments: I got this plot-bunny from the liner notes of the compilation CD “Art Deco: Can’t Help Lovin’ That Man”, available for download at the end of the story. I wrote this as sort of a bonus gift with the music.

The compilation of recordings is from the ‘20s and ‘30s of love songs to men sung by men (for full details of how come, I typed up the full liner notes and they are in there). Plus, I also added another recording from Ken Burns’s Jazz documentary soundtrack: Paul Whiteman singing “Ain’t No Man (Worth the Salt of My Tears)”. All great songs to listen to while writing Jooster!

The comments made on my previous post, 'Has anybody seen this?' just reminded me, that In ‘Much obliged’ Jeeves says he was privately educated. What does it mean by privately educated? I'd like to think that perhaps Jeeves’ parents educated him. Perhaps his father was a scholar, or his mother a governess, because I just can't see a lower-middle class family being able to afford a tutor. Jeeves also mentions his that his mother thought that he was intelligent..so what was she like? Average housewife? Brilliant, socially repressed mind dedicated to teaching her son? Clumsy pyromaniac? (Well, stranger things have happened..and it might be why Jeeves had to learn to cook so well..)

And now, in my customary roundabout way, I come to the original point, which was...a fic challenge thingy. It’s called ‘Meeting the family’,

Challenge Specifics
~ Bertie must meet Jeeves’ family.
~Any member.
~There must be a mention of a photo.
~Bertie must see this photo, there must be cuteness.
~Photo must be of Jeeves.
~As a kid.
~Can be slash or pre-slash.
~Must involve Jeeves climbing out of a window at least once.
Optional: Can involve fire.
Optional: Can involve a duck.

Who’s up for it? Anyone? Can be a drabble, a fic or a noom, it’s up to you.

Query.

I have a question. What, exactly does a stuffed frog look like?

Jeeves the almighty + Descriptions of stuffed frog expressions. These images, in my mind bring up disturbing comparisons to Kermit the frog.

*Muses on possiblity of fic involving Kermit-Jeeves...*
