Hi everybody! My name is Daryn. I just joined up here though I've been a Fry & Laurie fan for years and have enjoyed looking over your collection of fic here :)

But I'm also desperate to ask you all this -- How many of you have seen Bright Young Things, the film Stephen directed last year? Cuz I just watched it last night (twice, actually, cuz I also watched it with the commentary track) and then I trolled around in the IMDB comments and did a bit of searching and I found 3 reviews that refer to this but no one seems to want to delve into it and there's been no addressing of this in any interview I've found with Stephen or anything:

The star of Bright Young Things, Stephen Campbell Moore, is a dead ringer for a young Hugh Laurie. Actually there were moments when I thought he looked a bit like Jude Law also and one of the 3 reviews I found said that as well -- I think they called him a 'winning mix of Hugh Laurie and Jude Law'.

Please tell me that someone out there has had a field day with this and written fic in which the fact that Stephen cast this newcomer to feature films who just happens to look EXACTLY like Hugh Laurie -- is completely and steamily exploited!!!!

Or at least tell me someone else watched Bright Young Things and thought the same as I did? Or even just that you saw it cuz I can't find anyone to back me up on this and people are starting to make fun of me :(

And if there is no fic about this I want to challenge all you writers out there to get writing it!!!!

Nothing slashy, but I was skimming 'Jeeves Exerts the Old Cerebellum' for annotation purposes and stumbled upon this: (it's Bertie and Bingo)

"Where did you meet her?"
"At a subscribtion dance in Camberwell."
"What on earth were you doing at a subscribtion dance in Camberwell?"
"Your man Jeeves asked me if I would buy a couple of tickets. It was in aid of some charity or other."
"Jeeves? I didn't know he went in for that sort of thing."
"Well, I suppose he has to relax a bit every now and then. Anyway, he was there, swinging a dashed efficient shoe."

For some reason, the image of Jeeves dancing amuses me horribly. It's somewhat surreal to think about him having a life aside from that as a valet as well. Kind of like meeting your professor in the supermarket. Don't they just vanish once they set foot outside the university? Can't believe I completely forgot about this bit. Dancing!Jeeves!
