Check it out yourselves.

Stephen Fry: I'm certainly not adroit, efficient, neat, quiet on my feet and respectful like Jeeves. On the other hand, I do tend to remember quotations and regurgitate facts like him. I attempt the sunniness of disposition of Bertie Wooster, but can't achieve thesame altruism and sweetness of nature. A mongrel hybrid of both, I suppose. A sort of Jooster. Why take two Wodehouse characters into the shower, when you can simply Jooster And Go?

oh wow, this maketh me all smiley and fluttery...

Oh man... oh man oh man oh MAN... that is just -great-. I heart the sharin' o'dis fact like nothin' else. 'Take two Wodehouse characters into the shower' ....well. Why not? *pause* Did they have showers in the '20s? *2nd pause, first shrug* Who cares? ^_^

They had showers in Victorian times. They were pedal operated, if you can picture it...*giggle* It was advertised only for people in "the best of health." Hmmm...let's see if we can find a piccy to enjoy.

Fry and Laurie have done everything from kissing on TV, to claiming they've slept together, to professing love, and many many other slashy things. That's why [livejournal.com profile] fryandorlaurie exists. ;D

Really, they're my favourite OTP.

I always thought this is where everyone got the term from.

... you mean some of you came up with this independently of Stephen's comment? O_O

I have far too many caps of the TCC kiss. I love Emma's expression afterwards. ^____^

Outside of actually sleeping together, I don't see how their relationship could possibly be even flirtier. Not even taking into account the sketches (I think especially Condom Language where Stephen describes Hugh's body) and books (and countless theories about them), but the interviews alone...

Just some interview samples: They both say they love each other, Stephen talks about how sexy Hugh is, Hugh calls Stephen his soul mate, Stephen fidgets with Hugh's hair, Hugh says they're allowed to sleep with other people, Stephen making Hugh blush so many times, and then there's always this (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fryandorlaurie/92271.html) gem. I also love how they move in sync with each other in interviews, and how Hugh likes to slide closer and closer to Stephen until they're touching.

Sorry, I could go on like this for pages... they're just too darling. ♥

I'd heard the last sentence quoted (OMG, pleasant mental images!), but not the ones before it. Absolutely adorable. I remember reading an interview with Hugh somewhere, wherein he said that P.G. Wodehouse had saved him as a teenager from being just another spotty, skinny little smart aleck, by giving him Bertie's example and teaching him that it was enough, in life, to be kind and generous of spirit. I love the idea of both Stephen and Hugh trying to live up to Wodehouse...

Though Stephen really strikes me as more of a Psmith, somehow. Hm.

*pipes in* I first heard the term from the community and it seemed like such a perfect OTP-nickname that I've used that more than I've said 'Jeeves and Wooster' ^_^ Only yesterday had I heard of the word being Stephen's invention.. which, naturally, makes it all the more slashier ^_^

I've seen that quote a few times in the past...Didn't occur to me to interpret it in a slashy light, though the "shower" bit made me laugh. 'Course, I last read it a couple of years back, before combining names for 'ships became common.
