Chapter one.
Nov. 1st, 2005 05:37 pmWhat Ho!
Chapter one done, not very exciting, will stick it up later.
Also new avatar!!! I made it, and I got really cross when trying to upload it coz it had to be 100x100 so I had to redo it three times in order to get it to the right size.
The avater was made from candymaker dolls, full dolls are on my comp somewhere...lol.

Date: 2005-11-02 11:26 am (UTC)I must admit am not 100% about Bertie, a little too girly perhaps? or is he just sexy the way he is? It seems to me that lots of peeps on here have a similar idea of Jeeves but different of Berite, either blonde or like Laurie, it's kinda facinating that Jeeves has such a typecast look almost with Fry, whereas Bertie has more freedom in apperance.

Date: 2005-11-02 06:54 pm (UTC)You've got a point about the Stephen Fry-as-Jeeves image thing...my exposure to J/W was TV series, then books, then series again (and from thence to overarching madness) so I always do picture Fry, and am vastly annoyed when book cover art has a plump, elderly chappie holding the silver salver. (Jeeves is not Beach!) At the time, I think, some fans of the books thought he was too young--and the implications of having Jeeves be the same age as Bertie and his airheaded friends are...interesting. On the other hand, Hugh Laurie, while perfect in every other way, was getting a bit thin up top by season 4. Whatever else Bertie is, he definitely has to be young, and I think part of the reason the series stopped at 4 (besides having run through plots at a ridiculous pace) is that Laurie was starting to feel self-conscious about that. Unnecessary, of course, as younger characters are always being played by older actors, but what can you do. On top of this, strictly from a fan art perspective, Hugh Laurie is quite hard to draw. Something about the cheekbones and the long face...even if you manage a degree of accuracy, it's hard to get the charm.

Anywho made two new dolls inspired by the "Sleeping Aid" fic which everyone seems to have taken a shine to, am annoyed at there being no real
nightwear on Candymaker but hey I get to make Bertie even sexier and blushing and Jeeves with a slightly predatorial look to him.....yum....
