Art

First, before I get to the art, BBC Radio's running "The Inimitable Jeeves" right now. I don't much care for the radio adaptations, but others may enjoy it. :)

I did this partly to make a point. ;D In so many fics, Bertie's dressed in a blue suit or given a blue tie to bring out the blue in his eyes. Not that he wouldn't look great in blue, but actually I think blue clothes would make his eyes blend in. Since blue and yellow are complementary colors, golds/yellows and rust tones would make them stand out most.

I had drawn this picture last year and had finished coloring it & was about to post...when I realized I'd left out the ski poles. So I put it on the back shelf for months. Since getting my tablet, I redrew it - with the poles this time - and made a few other fixes as well.

Bertie playin' his banjolele.

I mentioned maybe doing Honoria in drag to a few of you in my last post. I decided to give it a try, so here she is. It turned out even better than I'd hoped, which hardly ever happens. :D

*******

Due to LJ's recent fuckery with the Scrapbook system, I'm considering hosting my art elsewhere and linking to it here. I've heard that some early users have lost photos in the move, plus it's not going to allow tagging (or subgalleries as far as I can tell).

I've been asked before if I have a website or Tumblr. Originally I was opposed to getting a Tumblr because it's more public than just posting in this community, but I know some of my pictures have been reblogged there already. So maybe I should just go ahead and make one? How many of you are on there? Photobucket's another possibility, but a boring one.

I absolutely adore your art. I guess we're lucky in that although we don't get much Wodehouse fan art, most of what I do see posted is so fabulous!

Personally, I think that a blue accessory does wonders for his eyes, like a tie or pocket scarf, but I like him dressed in browns and grays for the main suits. I'm sure that Jeeves prefers tame colors also!

Your pictures are great!

I would definitely follow you if you had a tumblr. (Is "following" the correct term? I'm new to Tumblr.)

Great! ^_^

I love Honoria in drag! She's perfect, and that pose is very sexy.

I'm also enjoying the way your version of Bertie is developing. I like the reddish tones to his hair because that's the way I've always pictured him.

Photobucket is a pretty boring way to share art, if that's what you want to do. I just store things there and get the links when I need them. I've never done tumblr, but a lot of people seem to enjoy it. A lot of Jooster fans have accounts, I think.

I love that book!

AGH that portrait so preraphaelite

I love the way you keep certain features of Laurie and discard others. It's like Laurie was cast to play this real person he somewhat resembles, and this is the face of the original.

What a fantastic comment. I wish it were mine. Perfect.

nicely done.

Love the Honoria piece. Don't let Sir Roderic see. Your latest iteration of Bertie reminds me of Canadian actor James Allodi. I love tumblr, but I'm not allowed to spend time on it because it will eat my life. Really. It's the only site on the internet I don't use because I love it too much. Only issue with tumblr is that it can be hard to retain credit for stuff, so I would watermark like crazy with your tumblr address or whatever. Although if you're just posting fan art maybe you aren't as concerned about art theft. There's also always DeviantArt which I have mixed feelings about but is (if nothing else) a good free place to post artwork.

I *looooove* the Bertie portrait -- he's so sweet and soulful. Maybe he does have hidden depths (well of course his fangirls think so!) despite his disavowals. And, OMG, Honoria!! I really love me some Honoria. She can thump me on the back and deafen me with her laugh any time. And she's even more awesome in white tie! (I actually really like most the fiancée-nemeses -- Florence is quite growing on me and Madeline is delightfully horrific). Anyway, gorgeous pix as always. Thank you so much for sharing them!

Firstly, you can post photos here from photobucket with the img html tag. When you upload something to them, you can click "share" and it will give you the code automatically.

Second, anything with your art, I'm likely to follow. Yes, I'm over on Tumblr but don't post that much. I'd follow you. :D

Third, omg as always so awesome to see new stuff from you!

Apologies - I had no idea that Photobucket indiscriminately posted people's stuff to the front page. I definitely understand not wanting stuff to just show up.

ooooooooh!!!Theyre awesomeXD
Snow picture with or without ski poles are perfect both! And Honoria make my dayXD
Please never stop drawing my dear!!!!

Its better i think-i especially liked that ski traces and shadow on snow. But in that first version Bertie could fell so hard-almost flying and that ski poles can end somewhere far away in trees or hit someoneXDDDDDD

I have no idea about pics because I'm not skilled, but if you go the tumbler way please post links here, because otherwise I'll miss your art and that would be Entirely Too Sad. Fantastic job!
PS I don't like brown clothes, but that's because I have a very different skin color. They do fit Bertie well.

[identity profile] gini-baggins.livejournal.com 2012-05-03 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I think something simlpe like saphire cufflinks or a blue flower in his buttonhole would bring out his eyes, but I agree with you that a tie or a suit makes them blend in. And gosh I love those colours on him, he looks almost angel like =) I adore the way his hair curls, much better than the brilliantined Bertie in my opinion.

Never thought about Bertie skiing (probably because I'm not a fan) but it makes perfectly sense for a winter holiday! Poor Jeeves would fret about him breaking bones though xD

I think Honoria just made my week :D

The portrait is just stunning.

Absolutely beautiful, as always. It's as if you push yourself a little bit further everytime. Love them.

Fabulous! I like Bertie in brown. I love the wave in his hair. The snow one is my favourite. Thank you for the wonderful art!

Everything about this is WIN. Your art is one of the main reasons I keep coming back to this fandom (I mean, besides the obvious). Your works are just so tangible to me.... Absolutely spiffing. I wish I had half the talent you most likely possess in one pinky finger. And to end it all with a lady in a suit. *swoons* You have my heart! :D

I'm going back through the art tag on the comm, and these are a treat... so vivid and fun, and I love Honoria in drag!
