How badly do I need to get this?

I found this for sale online:

Barskap

It's apparently a real side table/bar thingummy from the 1930s or 1940s; just the sort I imagine Jeeves would serve drinks from. With holders for glasses and stuff. Tell me, is it worth paying through the nose for? I'm inclined to think it is!

Eta: NOOOO! They sold it to someone else before I had a chance to get it, even though I sent an email mere hours after it was put out for sale. Woe is me. Sigh...

That is gorgeous. If you can afford it, I would say you should get it. You'll have it all your life. They don't make furniture like this any more.

You need it. You really really do. It's fabulous.

Looking at the other comments - this is probably a really bad place to come for financial advice XD

That being said, YES IT LOOKS SO WORTH IT.

CAN I COME TO THE JAZZ AGE PARTY YOU MENTIONED?

Look at it this way; if you buy it, you may be forced financially to eat mac and cheese for a while. If you don't buy it, the anguish will torture you for the rest of your now meaningless life.

Things like this only come around once in a great while. If you can afford it and you don't mind eating mac and cheese for a bit, I say get it.

I mean maybe this isn't the best place to ask if you don't want a bunch of people to enable you, but if it were me, I would kick myself forever if I didn't snag this. (And money is transient, right? Right?)

Woah, that is hot. You should definitely get it. ...before I do!

How don't you have this already???

I bet it weighs a ton and will be a complete pain in the ass to move. Wrap liberally in blankets and rope and let only your most trusted friends help carry it. Lie to them and tell them that the alcohol is still inside so that if they drop it, it will be alcohol abuse.

(And if that wasn't clear enough, what it meant was "Yes!" But only if you're willing to put the work in. Because if you're going to ding it around let me buy it, instead. I'm buying a condo where it would have a home for thirty years.)

What is to stop you from getting a second part-time job for a little while? It's easy enough if there is something you want badly enough that you are prepared to work for it. These period pieces will only become rarer and more expensive.
