What does everybody think about doing an archive of all the Wodefic posted and linked to here?

See, this site being more or less the nexus of all things J/W, you can be reasonably confident that if it exists, it'll be here somewhere, and there's a better-than-average chance of the same for Psmith and Blandings fic, too. But it's not all neatly catalogued in the memories, or anything, so a lot of the people who're new to the fandom get stuck slogging back through months and months of old posts. I know several people got together a while ago and gathered stuff over at indeedsir_posts, which has often been my savior when looking for something, but that was in (*checks*) May 2005, and one or two things have been posted since. ^_^ And every time someone complains about not being able to find any J/W slash, here of all places, my heart goes out to them.

Suggestions? Volunteers to help compile a new list?

This is a fantastic idea. You know, I've often thought that we really need a mod, so that we can change the userinfo to link to a fic list, or do other nifty things. Could we petition LJ to hand the reins over to someone new?

I sort of fell out of touch with her (my own fault), but the mod and I used to chat a lot and she's good people -- I'm sure if you emailed her, she'd put up a link to an archive or whatnot. Her email's on the community's profile page.

But, as someone points out below, her LJ has been deleted, which means that she no longer has any power to actually do anything as mod, whether she wanted to help or not. As innocentsmith says, I'm not sure if we want a new mod or not (things are working great now, why fix it if it ain't broken) but I'm not sure that getting in touch with the previous mod would help us any. I don't think anyone here is mad at her, or thinks she's a bad person, though.

Oh, golly. That's such a bigger issue than I wanted to get into here. I think there's something about how you do that on LJ's FAQ page, but...I don't know that that's really necessary.

Yeah, you might be right. If it ain't broke, why fix it? Anyway, it may become an issue later, but for now, I agree with you that using the indeedsir_posts comm to make some sort of fic archive is probably our best bet, then we could have a link to it in a forward-dated entry at the top of this comm. Or whatever else people decide on. :)
