I am on the Verge of starting some kind of Wodeverse RPG. What do I mean by this an PRG based mostly in the Universe of P.G. Wodehouse. I don't just mean Jeeves & Wooster. I mean the whole damn kit & Caboodle. I want to know who is with me!

Or if any good ones exist already.

Further ideas can be found in my livejournal, yesterdays entry though not very well explained because I was ill.

Oh and don't worry I only want to play one Obscure character or two.

Were you thinking of playing it on Livejournal or elsewhere?

I find rping on lj to be a little difficult to follow, but I'd love to play Pauline Stoker somewhere.

I am interested, but have limited time. If you do set it up, I'd liek to play Honoria Glossop, of whom I am fond, and for whom I have a great deal of compassion.

That siad- I think what a big sporty girl like her really needs is a a little sapphic sisterhood- would such a thing be welcome?

I might be in for that...

Would probably like to be Gussie... :)

I'd love to be involved in something like that if you started it up... I'd like to ask for Bertie Wooster, but I know that when you play major characters in these sorts of things, you gonna be availible to lurk on them for awhile. :P Besides, I'd hate to take him (Should you start an RPG) from an EXTREMELY adoring fan...so maybe I can just ask for either Spode, Madeline, or Bingo? ^^;

If I was going to play anyone it would be Mike Jackson. However, I'm pretty short of time, and there already was someone who was playing a good Mike in... What was it? There was a Mike and a Psmith, but I'm pretty sure they were not at Milliways.

Erm. Part of me really wants to jump up and beg for Jeeves and part of me says I don't have time for it. Sadly I'm not really well versed in other Wodehouse works and only know J&W from the show. I keep meaning to read the books. So mine would be a very Stephen Fry Jeeves and definitly one whose in love with Wooster, though he can be quiet about it if need be.

How do you do an LJ based RPG? I've only done it in e-mail before, well that and table-top.

...obverse the delicate ballet?

[identity profile] innocentsmith.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
It sort of reminds me of those spam emails I get sometimes, with subject lines made up of jumbles of words that still manage to have correct grammatical structure. "Astrophysicist lags jocular swine!"

Yeah, was thinking of that. Might be bitting off more than I can chew there. I'm just getting ansy cause I havn't been involved in an online RPG in ages. Would lurkers be allowed to watch mayhaps?

In before Psmith?

Failing that, I would totally play Gussie Fink-Nottle or, um, someone. Who are we slashing Honoria with these days, anyway?

Also, did I hear "Lovecraft" mentioned up-thread? Be still my gibbering heart.

Psmith crosses over with Blandings pretty heavily in the last book, actually.

I'm not sure about maintainence...I've run a bunch of tabletop games but I've never been a mod or anything for an online game. If no one else comes forward, though, I suppose I wouldn't MIND.

Not to jump in and steal you or anything (Well. Not exactly to jump in and steal you...) but we have been hankering for a Gussie over at [livejournal.com profile] hogwarts_hocus for a while now. It hasn't been as urgent recently because our Madeline has backed out, and Bertie and Jeeves are gearing up for their first class (Bertie's the new Divination professor!) but we'd love to have more Wodehouse characters around. If I weren't at my limit and playing Jeeves, I'd totally app as Florence. Or maybe Aunt Dahlia. If you particularly wanted to play Psmith, you might talk to the current player...I don't think he's been around at all since he was sorted to Ravenclaw, which was months ago, and he could be so great if played well.

Dude. h_h has eaten my brain. I'm playing six characters, half of whom (Psyche, Logan, and Jeeves) have highly complicated plots running, and the other half of whom (Sugar, Calvin and Hobbes) have promised various other characters to start things. I have no willpower. There is no way I can get involved with another RPG. Sorry.

[identity profile] innocentsmith.livejournal.com 2006-04-20 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, wait, no, that's right - he was sorted into Hufflepuff. And I think the player's explanation for his non-presence is that he's been sulking for not getting put into Ravenclaw. XD

[identity profile] anima-mecanique.livejournal.com 2006-04-27 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Hufflepuff? I confess myself somewhat boggled at this prospect.

[identity profile] innocentsmith.livejournal.com 2006-04-27 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, at h_h, Hufflepuff tends to be the "we have no idea where to put you" house...which means that it's got some very sweet people, some very polite people, and some absolutely terrifying people. "All the really scary ones are in Hufflepuff," is something of a running joke. I think Psmith got sorted there because he made the major tactical error of sneering at several of the people he talked to...garnering him a lot of votes for Bitchiwitch. The Hat was considering squibbing him, as a matter of fact, but a few of us made a push because...well, we love Psmith and we were hoping some of the mistakes would get smoothed out after the Sorting.

I think the justification ultimately given, IC, was that Psmith is loyal to his friends (which he is, of course, even if that's not the largest group of people ever) and extremely useful to have on your side...loyalty and usefulness being the defining Puff traits. OOC, I think it was because he'd made a few disparaging remarks about Hufflepuff and the Hat wanted him to have some tact smacked into him...which will happen if you insult the h_h Puffs.
