This is really off-topic, but it has to do with Qi, which has to do with Stephen, and something that was posted here once, so yah. (Mods, if this is total trash, just discard it. But the com seems kid of slow, so I thought anything would he;p )

So I was watching Qi just now, and noticed that Sandi Toksvig says "Said Sophie" you can find it in this vid at about 13:28, but I'd suggest starting at 13:20 to get the full question.

this, I believe, is a reference to an old comic strip called "lucy and Sophie say goodbye" which was posted on here a WAAAAAY long time ago, and can be found here http://www.barnaclepress.com/list.php?directory=LucyandSophie

Does this mean that Sandi reads old semi-lesbian comics, I think so~

Also, as a bonus, the channel that episode of Qi is on has ALL the episodes, if you don't live in the UK and want to watch, like I do.

At the risk of stereotyping dreadfully, Sandi is an old lesbian comic, so it's certainly possible. I've mostly only ever seen her on QI but she does seems to share Stephen's love of arcane history, so whether she's read them or not I do think they'd be up her ally.

I have since watched the clip and googled the phrase "said sophie" (for which there are no useful results) and I am absolutely convinced that was a reference to that comic.

I know right! I just like catching celebrities in moments when I can be all 'I see what you did thar'. It was more the context, where they were all 'you go, no you go', paired with Sophie, it reminds me of the comic. It's just so obscure~

and also, I was totally not meaning so sound stereotypical. I wouldn't be surprised if Stephen knew about that comic to!

Thanks for the link! All I ever seemed to find when I you tube searched for QI is the snippets from the official bbc channel. Too short only only a few available. Why couldn't BBC America show QI instead of reruns of Star Trek the Next Gen?

See, that's totally the real reason I even posted this XD I stumbled upon this channel, and faved it so fast your head woulda spun. Now I just want to share it with EVERYONE.

I also totally agree about BBC America showing Qi. However, perhaps it's a little too shocking for American audiences, so many penis references, so little time.....because for some reason we're fine with explosions and hacking zombies with chainsaws, but anyone even mentions a penis and SHUT DOWN. Gods I love America...
