I read all three of the story collections relatively recently and I don't recall a dinner. It my just be my fuzzy memory and I don't have the books on hand to check.

I agree with storyfan, the language isn't exactly appropriate, but those were the times I guess.

I probably invented it when I started writing something I never finished. Either that or it was in some fic I read a million years ago.
