Hello all - I just joined *and* I actually have something to post! Gracious!

Wodehouse character or baseball player?

Last weekend I was reading Much Obliged, Jeeves by P.G. Wodehouse and taking in a baseball game on the radio and I had a small revelation. I was thinking particularly about former New York Mets farmhand Esix Snead, who has a name straight out of a Wodehouse novel...You can imagine the high jinks that ensue when Snead visits the country house of his nemesis Sir Kyle Farnsworth (master of the late-inning meltdown) in an attempt to break off his romantic involvement with the daughter of Lord Preston Wilson.

And there's a quiz! (No cheating, now.)

Heh, so Wodehouse like the Mets!

It made me both happy and sad when I found out that Wodehouse lived in Remsenburg, only 15 miles away from me while I was growing up in Aquebogue.

Happy because Yay!LI! And sad because I would have been too young to who he was before he died, let alone visit.

That's all old Plum needed, tiny fangirls on his lawn.
