jeeves & wooster newcomer seeks aid

What ho, what ho!

I've recently fallen head over spats for Jeeves & Wooster, especially Jooster slash. I'd love to talk about our two chumps, exchange headcanons and fic ideas, get to know people's favourite fanfics,... Only I don't know anything about, nor anyone in the Jooster fandom! I don't know where to begin!

Could anyone guide silly old novice me? Tell me what authors to follow, what fanfics to read, what to watch out for when writing fic (i tried writing a couple. it didn't work out.), and other stuff like that?

Much appreciated!

What ho!

There is a LOT in the Jeeves and Wooster fandom, so it may seem a little daunting at first! I've been here for less than a year and there are so many brilliant fanfictions here, especially where Jooster is concerned.

I really recommend authors like Mercy, Skyblue_Reverie and Mice, though there are plenty of amazing writers on Indeed Sir.

Here are a couple of fanfictions that I particularly like, though it depends what genre you're into and what things you like and don't like (again, you can probably find a Jooster fic about anything here and on AO3!).

There's also a pretty funny guide by Innocentsmith on how to write Jooster http://indeedsir.livejournal.com/233895.html

Hi there, and welcome! I'm not sure exactly what your personal preferences in fic are, but I can definitely recommend you some of my favourites from the community! I tend to lean more towards fluffy, canon-elaborative stuff, so if you're into that, I'd definitely check out closetofheroes work!

Their two-shot series, 'The Code of the Ganymede', is hands down my go-to favourite. (It deals with the aftermath of the ending scene in Jeeves and the Tie that Binds).

Part 1 - Jeeves Makes an Omelette: http://closetofheroes.livejournal.com/1214.html#cutid1

Part 2 - The Trial of Jeeves: http://closetofheroes.livejournal.com/1495.html#cutid1

I would also recommend 'What Aunt Dahlia Saw', which is another great series by closetofheroes that explores Bertie and Jeeves's relationship through Dahlia's eyes. It's absolutely adorable.

Another fic I'd recommend is emeraldreeve's incredible WWII speculation fic, 'Troubled Times'. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble finding the link to chapter 1 at the moment! :( Maybe someone else here has it?

With the holiday season in mind, I recommend Jeeeves Makes a Move (http://archiveofourown.org/works/658542) by Veronomay, Not Fooling Anybody (http://archiveofourown.org/works/243845) (locked) by Random Nexus, and Jeeves and the Christmas Grotto (http://archiveofourown.org/works/610855) by preux. These authors have many other wonderful stories, as well. And I agree with the others, this website has oodles of recommendations, links, and stories to discover.
