Seahorse Jooster mpreg (dear God!) and a lot of fry...

(Also, IS, do you not have a "crack" tag? Did you not foresee that this day would come? I think it's in the Book of Revelations between the locusts and the seven-headed dragon.)
Edit: now with some unnecessary animations in the comments section. Seahorse Jooster - it's even more annoying as a gif!
Seahorses have an unusual reproductive strategy.

(Inspired by this photo of seahorses. Seriously how cute are seahorses with their intertwining tails and general glompiness?)
The gestation is also a challenging time for the pregnant seahorse's mate.

(The Snakehead fish can breathe air, climb trees and wipe out entire ecosystems.)

The mate visits the gestating father daily and performs a ritual reminiscent of the courtship. The father, meanwhile, produces massive amounts of the hormone prolactin to nourish the young.

Between 9 and 45 days later (depending on the species), the father gives birth. Seahorses can have as many as 1500 young, which are called fry.* The young are perfect miniature replicas of the adults.

*Science!canon. They are not, however, necessarily called Stephen.
(OK, huge apologies. If you put your head in your hands for a while and breathe deeply, it will probably be OK.)

It's *your* fault :) If this doesn't leave a stain on your conscience, then I don't know what it doesn't leave a stain on!
Bertie jnr in his mess jacket is the happiest little thing. The very definition of Sunny disposish.

I feel no shame - in fact I feel more than a little bit proud to have inspired such a happy little scene!
As I believe someone already said - the internets are now yours, please look after them and remember to clean and feed them regularly.

and don't think I should clean the internet ... what fun would it be then?

My mission should I choose to accept it... Guess we'll all just have to wait 'til tomorrow to see! (but probably not because this week at work? hellish! Which does tend to kill all fun thoughts!)
I believe that cleaning the intertubes is what swept these little darlings out into the open! Or not. I don't know. I'm just glad tomorrow is Friday - and not just for more Joostery goodness!
Gonna go watch little Bertie trying to escape with mess jacket intact - again - for a while...

Oh, also, there is more of this now... or at least there will be shortly.
