It's not so much an issue of paying the rent as that I'd promised the essay to a friend who's editing an anthology and I'm hard up against the deadline. I've got it about a third of the way done at the moment, I think. I need to spend tomorrow bunging some quotes and references into the thing to expand it more appropriately.
