I remember our discussion. What was done to Turing was scary. I'd think it would cause fear in Bertie and maybe Jeeves, too. The rich still had servants, but in case anyone thought it odd that he kept Jeeves in his employ, going to this school and failing gives him an excuse to keep Jeeves. If anyone questioned him later, he could always say that he had tried to do without Jeeves and couldn't. The failure at school gives him reason to keep Jeeves even when having servants was no longer a common practice.
