Delurkification

Hi everybody, I've been lurking around this great community of yours for quite some time now and I've finally gathered up the courage to post. I have to say I'm awed by the quality of fics in this community so I'm kinda nervous to post my first fic here, especially since I'm relatively new to this fandom and, well... it's a crossover...

With The Talented Mr. Ripley ...

*hides behind sofa to duck tomatoes and other assorted vegetables*

I've been writing fanfic for quite some time now, but I've never posted anything so I was wondering if someone would be generous enough to maybe look my fic over a bit and snark the living daylights out of it, if necessary. Seriously, if it sucks, please tell me, and I'll try my best to de-suckify it a bit (as you can tell it's rather late and I should really be asleep right now). I've only got the first chapter done right now (it's about 1400 words). I would be eternally grateful if someone could help me out a bit, because, as I've said, I'm rather nervous about posting my first-time-J&W-crossover-fanfic un-betaed. /end shameless begging

Hi! As a former lurk myself, I welcome you to this community! *bow*

Love to help out with beta-ing, if you like.

Um, I don't know "The Talented Mr. Ripley" but I guess I could give your story a look-see. Although if you can find someone else who knows both they might be a better choice and I won't be offended if you don't pick me. ;)

I am willing to check it over for grammar and especially style, if you like. Don't be too nervous, darling--JWfandom is one of the cordial fandoms. They're a welcoming bunch, it's refreshing! ^_^

Oh my gosh - "The Talented Mr. Ripley" is an incredibly good movie - and and very sad and frightening. Im always afraid of myself at the end, and the middle always makes me cry.

Im almost... too scared to see it mixed with the ridiculously happy fluffy caring world of Jeeves N Wooster - even the Darkest fanfics in our fandom where ants compared to the solemnity and despair that is Mr. Ripley's story.

Not that I'm saying you shouldn't post it - im sure it will be a splendid piece of art. I can easily see Bertie falling in with Dickie on the Jazz scene. I would also love to watch Jeeves see right through Ripley, fearing, hating, but above all pitying him, and, of course, protecting Bertie from any evil he might bring into the picture. if you can't find anybody else who knows TTMR, then im your girl. greenpea88@yahoo.com
