Stephen Fry in Desolation of Smaug

Did anyone else notice Stephen Fry as the Master of Laketown in The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug?

Of course I can't see the wonderful Mr. Fry in anything without my brain circling back to Jeeves so... Tolkien/Wodehouse AU anyone?

Bertie could be a half-elf of some sort, tall and willowy with dreamy eyes, but still absolutely 'Bertie'-ish, to the other elves' dismay. (maybe even funnier if no one was quite sure what the other half was? we all know how those midsummer festivals can be, right?)

I do like a Gandalfish Jeeves, though. Couldn't there be one of the Maiar who got side-tracked far too often looking after that strangely-likeable half-elf fellow. Or disguised as a servant, but really a Maia?
